DESCRIPTION
There is no better place to escape the city than Central Park. Just take a few steps into the green oasis, and the sounds of Manhattan begin to fade away. Designed by Frederick Olmstead and Calvert Vaux in 1858, Central Park was the first public park in America and it is one of the most frequently visited, with more than 25 million visitors annually. The park’s 843 acres offer endless discoveries and adventures. You could spend an entire day roaming the grounds, admiring the park’s bridges, arches and monuments, or gliding across the lake on a rented paddle boat. If basking in the park’s beauty isn’t enough for you, the park boasts a zoo, nature centers, horseback riding, sports fields for every game imaginable, eateries, and dozens of different events, ranging from bird watching to yoga to Shakespeare in the Park.

Central Park is a must every time someone comes to visit. There’s so much going on that it’s incredibly entertaining to just walk around and people-watch.
Did you know that the giant rocks throughout the park date from the formation of the Earth’s crust? That blows my mind. I love the carousel and the row boats- but watch out when rowing under the bridges, you will be bombed by pigeons! And speaking of people-watching, you can do so for HOURS at the roller-disco spot on the west side
Some of the best summer afternoons have been spent on the great lawn. When it’s a really nice day, you need to get there early to secure a spot. Generally, it’s a well-manicured space where you can breath fresh air and pretend you’re not in the city for a little while.
