DESCRIPTION

Counter is an organic wine and food bar born out of the owner’s all natural baked good and pastries business, Body & Soul. The East Village favorite only serves wines produced under the guideline of organic, biodynamic, and sustainable practices, which determine each wine’s unique taste and personality. Counter also offers herb-infused cocktails, alongside bistro fare comprised of local, seasonal, and vegetarian dishes. What’s even greener is the owner’s rooftop garden – teeming with a variety of herbs ranging from lemongrass and garlic to chives and chocolate mint. They also grow lettuces, peppers, Concord grapes, strawberries, 15 types of heirloom tomatoes, and dozens of other veggies.
