Flatbush Farm & Bar(n) is a locavore’s delight for eating and drinking. As part of the Slow Food movement, the restaurant part — the Farm — specializes in farm-to-table New American cuisine. They employ sustainable agriculture and use seasonal, local ingredients: Satur Farms on Long Island and Guy Jones upstate provide the restaurant with locally grown produce, and they get grass-fed organic meat from Fleischer’s in Kingston. The bar, or Barn, serves wines made by small vine growers, along with a quality selection of organic spirits and micro-brewery beers.

My only complaint with Flatbush Farm is that there is always a wait! But I guess that’s because it is so yummy. Definitely high end, but worth the price tag. In the summer their backyard garden is gorgeous.

Fantastic food! A little pricey, but for a nice night out, it’s worth it.
