Perfectly located at the tip of Prospect Park, the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket serves residents of Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, and Prospect Lefferts-Gardens. The year round Greenmarket is the flagship market in Brooklyn, and the second largest in the whole city (second only to Union Square). With items ranging from organic turkey by DiPaola Turkey from Mercer County, NJ to fresh produce from Bradley Farm and Wilklow Orchards in Ulster County, this market has everything you might need to make perfect local, seasonal home cooked meals.  If you’re on your way to the Brooklyn Public Library (right next to the market!) or the Botanical Gardens (just a block away!), stop by, peruse the vendors, and grab a snack.

Grand Army Plaza is my go-to Greenmarket. The produce stands are fantastic year round, and the prices are definitely comparable to any organic supermarket. I love the apple cider from Wilklow Orchards and the tomatoes from Bradley Farms may just be the best tomatoes I’ve ever had.

I love this greenmarket! I used to live in Manhattan and the Union Square market was just too much for me to handle mid-day so I’d wake up early to get there before the crowds. Now that I live in Brooklyn I get to shop at Grand Army Plaza, which is much calmer but just as stocked up with deliciously local, organic ingredients!
