Housing Works is an amazing resource and the perfect vehicle for being charitable and recycling new and used products at the same time. They sell and accept donations of new and gently-used fashion, accessory, jewelry, furniture, books, and other household items. You can visit one of their 10 retail locations throughout NYC or bid on their store window auctions online. Each location has their own unique stock, so you won’t be finding the same items at every location. Donations of clothing, books, and furniture are tax deductible. All profits go towards helping the homeless and people living with AIDS/HIV, in order to provide them with quality housing, health care, and legal protection from discrimination.

This location has a pretty large book selection, and I’ve found dozens of interesting paperbacks and coffee book tables. They also have a great selection of homewares. I’ve picked up a few picture frames and candles here.
