Housing Works is an amazing resource and the perfect vehicle for being charitable and recycling new and used products at the same time. They sell and accept donations of new and gently-used fashion, accessory, jewelry, furniture, books, and other household items. You can visit one of their 10 retail locations throughout NYC or bid on their store window auctions online. Donations of clothing, books, and furniture are tax deductible. All profits go towards helping the homeless and people living with AIDS/HIV, in order to provide them with quality housing, health care, and legal protection from discrimination.

One of my favorite places to donate! They have the nicest staff who will answer any question you have, and they work for a great cause. I’ve definitely bid on a few pieces in their famous window displays. I actually purchased my first piece of Marc Jacobs when I first arrived to NY through a window auction!
