DESCRIPTION

The MoMA Design Store is an extension of the Museum of Modern Art that acts as a gift shop, off-shoot gallery, and boutique. The inventory includes books and other home decor and design items (clocks, prints, paperweights, calendars, furniture, etc.) that complement MoMA’s permanent collections and current, temporary exhibitions. There are three locations in Manhattan, with the two MUJI at MoMA locations offering large selections of clever, smartly designed homewares and accessories by Muji. Museum members enjoy a 10 percent discount, which doubles on special member shopping days that occur four times each year.

Museum shops are one of my favorite things in the whole world, so I love the fact that MoMA has stores scattered throughout the city. This location has a lot of really cool items, from crazy modern clocks to simple kitchen solutions. I recently got a set of flexible measuring bowls from here that can be squeeze to form a spout — super useful! Plus, they are green, so they match my kitchen!
