DESCRIPTION

Displaying an impressive and eclectic collection of hand-made objects, The Museum of Art and Design offers an interesting look at the contemporary and historic design in unique exhibits that can’t be found at the city’s bigger, better known institutions. The museum celebrates the creative process and places an emphasis on the materials, techniques, and artists’ engagement with the process. The museum hosts a variety of different educational and outreach programs, including open studios, film series, and live performances. Past exhibits include a look at handcrafted bicycles, displays of glasswear and silver jewelry, a show of wooden homewares, and many, many more.

Really enjoyed the ‘dead or alive’ exhibit when I was there. Great location too.

Conveniently located and easily accessible by subway. Have a swanky restaurant too on the top floor which is great for a cocktail or light meal!
