DESCRIPTION
Each year the Windflower Farm grows 15 acres of organic vegetables for their shareholders in NYC. Each week, for about 22 weeks beginning in mid-June, they have salad greens and cooking greens, herbs, an assortment of roots, bulbs and tubers, and seasonal vegetables, including tomatoes, squashes, cucumbers, peppers, melons, and eggplant. They also have a wide variety of unusual vegetables that regardless of the fact they come in small quantities, will truly enhance your eating pleasure. The cost of one size of vegetable share is $400.
Vegetable Share Members can also add a Fruit or Flower Share, and an egg share is also available to members.
During a part of every season this CSA knows that individual preferences vary, and try to offer as many choices as possible. For example if they bring three or four kinds of greens they are happy to let you decide which to take home and which to leave. Past shareholders have said they are thrilled when given the freedom to choose, and The Washington Heights CSA is committed to offering as many choices during the year as possible.
