New York Yankees fans might be finding themselves blue with envy this month. Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson announced on Wednesday that 50 of New York’s Citi Bikes have been adorned with the Queens baseball team’s logo for a campaign supporting a month-long social media contest. The lucky winner, hopefully a Mets fan, will get the honor of throwing out the first pitch at Citi Field against the Washington Nationals on August 2.

To enter, Citi Bikers have only to find one of the Mets-logo-bearing bikes and post a photo to Twitter or Instagram using #CitiBikeSweepstakes. The sweepstakes will run through July, and several other winners will be chosen to receive Mets merchandise, like backpacks, hats and other memorabilia. The Citi Bike program has over 6,000 bikes, so finding one of the special 50 Mets bikes will be quite a challenge.

For some baseball aficionados, throwing out the first pitch is a lifelong dream. Citigroup execs are likely hoping that such baseball fever will inspire riders to use the bike-sharing program more frequently, in search of the elusive Mets-themed rides.
