  • Sick of going to events where all you can do is buy bottled water to quench your thirst? NYC’s Water Department heard your cries and has rolled out its Water-On-The-Go mobile drinking fountain stations at shows, festivals and other venues throughout the five boroughs. Water-On-The-Go supplies parched partiers with an all-you-can-drink supply of the city’s award winning (no joke, they give awards for this) tap water through a roving, 6-head fountain.

It’s no secret that NYC tap water tastes great, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s totally free either. Drinking tap water also eliminates the impact of trucking bottled water and refrigerating it, as well as all of the plastic waste. With those benefits in mind, New York City is giving event organizers an opportunity to make their shindigs healthy and much cleaner with portable fountains for guests to hydrate and fill reusable water bottles at.

Eligible events need to be located in the five boroughs and have access to a fire hydrant. They also need to expect at least 500 participants and happen before October. To help the cause, the city even has a free iPhone app to help folks find a fountain at their favorite event.

This is fantastic. We’d love to open up our free water network in the US to help people enjoy free tap water all-year round –

If you’d like to see us launch, please let us know :)
