NY art lovers will soon have a place to get their daily dose of inspiration for free at The Museum of Modern Art’s Sculpture Garden. Starting on September 9, MoMA’s garden will be open to the public free of charge every morning from 9am to 10:15am. On top of the new gratis access, morning visitors will get to see all of the garden’s sculptural additions for a new installation called The Modern Monument.
The Modern Monument is a new exhibit that showcases a diverse group of sculptures exploring the theme of contemporary monuments. Among the diverse group of sculptures to see including Figurengruppe – a group of figures made from bronze, copper, stainless steel, and lacquer – by Katharina Fritsch.
There’s more to see at the MoMA garden, so be sure to check it out for free starting September 9. If you want to visit the Sculpture Garden you can get in during the morning by entering through the west gate on West 54 Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
