With a design based on the farm buildings on the property, the new addition helps to tie in the visual identity of the site, without contrasting with the historic features. The dark exterior is contrasted with orange terracotta glazed panels on the underside of the structure, which echo the color scheme and design of a china cabinet inside the house.

    Who is paying for this strikingy modern museum? Who hired the architects? Do descendants of Pieter Claessen have no voice in this proposed project??

    I would rather see something more educational such as an authentic old Dutch barn with a couple Holstein-Frisian cows and a team of Frisian horses, and carriage.
