Gallery: New Yorkers Celebrate Electric Cars During Plug-in Day

The Chevy Volt on display at the showcase. It operates as an electric car for its first 35 or so miles after a full charge and then uses gas to extend its range. NYC Plug-in Day was created by a group of local EV owners and advocates, and it was sponsored by the Hudson River Park Trust, with help from Sierra Club, Plug-in America, and the Electric Auto Association.
