At the moment it looks like Ted Mosby might be meeting your mother way before the Second Avenue subway is anywhere close to completion, but a Community Information Center keeping the public updated on the line’s progress will be opening today. Metropolitan Transportation Authority Capital Construction Company President Michael Horodniceanu and CIC staff will be kicking off the launch of the center this morning in the Yorkville/Upper East Side section of Manhattan. The center will be accessible to the public starting tomorrow.

A press release distributed this morning by the MTA press office reads: “The purpose of the CIC is to provide a space where the public can find continuous and consistent outreach services and information about the SAS project, interactive exhibits, and up-to-date SAS construction information. The CIC will have programs to educate residents, visitors, and school children.”

The Second Avenue Subway Community Information Center is located at 1628 Second Avenue between 84th and 85th Streets in Manhattan.
