Finding a good campground isn’t really one of the first things you think about when it comes to New York City, but that might just change. Floyd Bennett Field, an old airport on the edge of Brooklyn, is set to become the largest urban campground in the United States. The location, which is owned by the National Parks Service, is currently home to five campsites, but the new plan would create an additional 600.

    Wow, I remember Floyd Bennett Airfield and the planes that used to be there. Sad that the airport is closed but at least they haven't turned it into a shopping mall. Thinking back, I remember when Kings Plaza was built!

    How many acres are we talking about. It's great to see even New Yorkers care about camping. Seeing congestion is bad in those airports I don't think those airports are congested naturally or as bad. 3:37 (watch the whole thing if your interested)
