Discovering Columbus opened on September 20th, and ran two weeks past its original eight week run due to wild popularity. Selling furniture rather than works of art may be out of the ordinary for the Public Art Fund, but everyone benefits with this sale. Design fans can grab a piece of the action and the Public Art Fund gets to recycle their exhibit while obtaining funds for future public art projects.
The couch, tables, white chairs, candlesticks, vases, pillows, curtains and even the Samsung LED TV are being sold off online through Artspace. Members of the Artspace community even get a hefty discount on the furnishings – sometimes a whopping 40 percent.
