Foster gutted the interior of the old building to create a soaring six-story atrium, while maintaining the historic facade. Nearly 85 percent of the removed materials were recycled for future use.

    I think it's great that Hearst Tower combines historical aesthetics with modern architectural design. The photos are fantastic!
