Gallery: Pickett Furniture Brings a Worldly Aesthetic to BKLYN Designs ...

This is an amazing console that delivers the equivalent of 15-20 watts of good sound

It seems like there is nothing that Pickett Furniture can’t do. Some recent projects include dismantling disused oak barrels to produce clean planks of wood, which have then been used to construct a wall, a beautiful bamboo tripod lamp that would light up even the dreariest home, and the Morkt Sanfunn Console is the company’s first foray into the world of custom audio electronics.

When sourcing wood, Jeremy doesn’t compromise. If he can’t salvage the materials from tear-downs or fallen trees, he purchases mostly domestic solid woods such as walnut, cherry and maple from a family-run mill on the border of Delaware and Pennsylvania. Otherwise he buys bamboo in Maryland and teak and mahogany from a firm in California that goes to great lengths to ensure it has been harvested in a regenerative, earth-friendly manner. Finally, all of his work is either hand-finished or sprayed with low V.O.C coatings. Be sure to head on down to BKLYN Designs at Dumbo this weekend to see Jeremy and all the other great green designers who will be showcasing their finest work!
