Show the planet some love this Valentine’s Day and make your voice heard about the dangers of risky fossil fuels. Concerned New Yorkers are gathering today to call on city comptroller Scott Stringer to pull money from the Dakota Access pipeline and divest the city’s $170 billion investment fund away from oil and gas. If the short-sighted White House won’t act against the dirty investments destroying our planet, we will #RESIST to create a better future for all of us.

RESIST, DAPL, RESIST DAPL, divest, divest from oil, pipeline rally, pipeline protest, fossil fuel rally, fossil fuel protest, valentines day divestment rally, NYC protest, climate change, global warming

Mayor Bill De Blasio and several other mayors across the country have expressed support for cutting ties with any banks that are funding DAPL. Combined with the fact that Stringer announced plans to begin the city’s much delayed climate risk assessment, the timing couldn’t be more important to rally together for the cause.

The rally will be held at the comptroller’s office at 1 Centre Street at 12pm on the 14th. Film director Josh Fox will be speaking, along with representatives from 350NYC, 350.org, New York State Nurses Association, Riverside Church Beloved Earth Community, 350BK and more. Come help support a cleaner New York.
