There’s no question that Superstorm Sandy gave way to some incredible stories and images. So as the city continues to recover from the effects of the hurricane, the Museum of the City of New York (MCNY) has announced plans to showcase iconic images of the storm – from the region’s preparations to acts of heroism to the resiliency and rebuilding efforts of communities. The MCNY’s call for submissions invites both novice and professional photographers to submit images for a juried exhibition that will open in April to coincide with the six-month anniversary of the storm. The deadline to submit photos is March 3, 2013, and selections will be made by a jury comprised of photography curators and journalists. If you want more info detailing submission requirements, please visit the MCNY website.
