We’ve been following BrightFarms’ plan to build the world’s largest rooftop farm in Brooklyn, and now they’ve sent us word revealing who their long-term retail partner will be – A&P. The grocery mega-giant (formally known as the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company) has signed a long-term produce purchase agreement with BrightFarms for the Sunset Park project, and will be the exclusive retailer of the up to 1 million pounds a year of lettuce, tomatoes and herbs produced at the farm. The veggies will then be sold locally at A&P’s various retail outlets, including The Food Emporium, Pathmark, Waldbaums, and grocery stores under the A&P name itself.

The national online platform Honest Buildings launched in April, and as it seeks to provide a wealth of information about buildings throughout the US, the website has just added a significant amount of New York City’s real estate to it database — 250,000 buildings to be exact. So now it’s a lot easier to learn about the projects you’re interested in and even make that next building project easier. The website works by letting those who own, work in or on buildings add content about the projects and use the website as a forum to talk about the buildings and solicit for services. The site’s creators look for it to be an active social hub for reliable information about buildings, such as their condition, energy consumption and even walk scores all in one place. So go ahead, look up your building.
