“It's time to stop talking about chairs,” says Lucas Maassen, “and let them talk back at us.” The Singing Chair does just that. On the back of a simple wooden chair is a digital screen that shows a lifelike mouth that moves as the chair talks and sings in a deep voice reminiscent of crooners like Frank Sinatra. The chair has wit, confidence, and allure as an object with a personality of its own.
