Batten down the hatches – a tornado watch has been issued for most of New York City, many New York counties and a large swath of New Jersey until 5 PM tonight. This latest alert comes from the NOAA NWS Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Long-time New Yorkers will know the island isn’t safe from natural disasters anymore between Hurricane Sandy, a tornado touching down on Breezy Point last year, and even a freak earthquake felt across the entire East Coast. So if you feel your home or workplace is vulnerable, play it safe and hunker down at a safer location. Read on for the full list of affected areas.
