Gallery: Abandoned Lot Turned into Public Farm and Mountain Bike Course...

“Two Trees is committed to Williamsburg for the long haul, and we want to be able to give back to the community as we prepare to build at the Domino Sugar site,” said Jed Walentas, Principal at Two Trees Management. “The operators we’ve selected will be welcoming residents of all ages to this new public open space for biking, reading, relaxing, yoga classes, and more.”

The temporary park space that Two Trees Management announced back in March for a vacant lot near their Domino Sugar Refinery housing complex site is now open to the public! The previously empty land was transformed into Havemeyer Park and Brooklyn Bike Park, two interim community spaces featuring fun attractions like a dirt bike course, an urban farm and an outdoor reading room. The 55,000-square-foot lot on Kent Avenue between South 3rd and South 4th Streets in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is now mostly complete but will continue to add more vendors and activities throughout the year.
