    It's all well and good until the vines hurt the structure and break it down. Inspection of it would be a nightmare. Paint it I steadily with 3d soso it looks like it has vines on it. Seriously bad idea. Sometimes you have to compromise.

    There are many freeway miles through the cities of Southern California that could benefit from trellis landscaping ideas like this. Trickle irrigation and drought-hardy plants--native when possible--are needed here.

    I know it would be more effort, but I think taking that corridor and making it into an underground tunnel will be better; highway noise is not appealing for any park, or green space, no matter how green would look.
