Gallery: Students Create Gigantic Dung Beetle from Scrap Metal and Salv...

German artist Mirko Siakkou-Flodin worked with students from Metro Alternative School and Mount Mercy University to create this extraordinary kinetic sculpture inspired by a dung beetle. The 8′ x 8′ x 12′ sculpture is created from scrap steel, found metals and even salvaged e-waste, while the distinctive head of the beetle itself is made of used tires. The sculpture was created for the Eco Art Festival in Cedar Rapids.
