If your beloved bike broke and you are left with some spare parts, here is a cool project to keep your old friend useful and close to your heart. Designed by Nottingham Trent University’s graduate Oliver Staiano , CycleHangers is a set of innovative coat hangers recycled from defunct BMX bicycle parts. They combine the elements of your beloved cycle with high quality wood, in a sleek design that uses neither glue nor screws.
The hooks on the CycleHangers are either made from laminate wood or created from spokes taken from the wheels, making the most of the old two-wheeler remains. We spotted this sleek idea at this year’s Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven , which is part of an open-source project called Co-oproduct. Co-oproduct is an open-source Community Interest Company (CIC) that groups plenty of creative reuse projects online, with step-by-step instructions to MIY (Make It Yourself). Check out how to make these cool CycleHangers here !
