This weekend is the long-awaited Openhouse New York, an annual city-wide event showcasing some of the gems of New York’s built environment. In all five boroughs, buildings old and new will be offering free access and tours to the public.

In addition to open houses, the program includes scheduled dialogues with architects and designers, a photography competition, special events for kids, and tours of sites that highlight sustainable principles.

Look for highlights next week from Jill’s explorations around the city.
