Not a fan of the excess that comes with smart phones? Then lose all of those unnecessary apps and fold yourself a frills free phone that not only looks cool, but boasts an unrivaled material efficiency. Designed by Chengyuan Wei [4] the Origami Phone is equipped with the same minimal components of a typical handset, but folds from flat into a three-dimensional object that is as beautiful and clean as a paper crane. Each phone is composed simply of a hardboard, chip, telecture, diaphragm microphone, electrical wire and metal stitch, and can be easily broken down and disposed of at the end of its useful life, with minimal impact.
