Pakistani Garment-Factory Fire Likened to Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fires–Leaves 300 Dead

Few options of escape were available to the trapped workers: every exit except one was locked and most windows were barred, leaving many Americans to make comparisons to the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fires [3] of 1911. With a shoe factory fire claiming 25 lives in another nearby city, the Pakistani manufacturing industry is now under scrutiny.
