Panama City’s Eco-Luxe Tantalo Hotel has a Two Story Living Wall and Artist Designed Rooms
The hotel’s incredible living wall is stocked full of lush native plants—983 different species to be exact. The wall, which was installed by Aqua Terra, is irrigated by recycled rainwater that is collected from the skylights which flood natural light into the atrium. Visitors can enjoy the living wall from the lobby, or some lucky guests can get up close and personal with a view right form their rooms.
In the lobby below, guests relax at tables made from repurposed suitcases, while sipping on local cocktails. The Tantalo Kitchen restaurant and rooftop bar were both built from reclaimed wood from the Panama Canal, tying in a sense of history with their sustainable mission. Recycled newspapers and phonebooks keep the hotel nice and cool, functioning as insulation in the structural walls.
With sustainability, Tantalo also brings luxury, with a deep tissue massage included with each of the 12 guest rooms! Each is hand decorated by a local Panama artist, making the Tantalo a hotel-meets-art gallery. Graffiti and wall pieces continue throughout the hotel, creating a relationship between art, tourism and sustainability.
The beautiful wooden rooftop bar offers sweeping views of the ultra modern Panama City, while offering artisan local cocktails and a chance to dance the night away.
