The hotel’s incredible living wall is stocked full of lush native plants—983 different species to be exact. The wall, which was installed by Aqua Terra [2], is irrigated by recycled rainwater that is collected from the skylights which flood natural light into the atrium. Visitors can enjoy the living wall [3] from the lobby, or some lucky guests can get up close and personal with a view right form their rooms.

In the lobby below, guests relax at tables made from repurposed suitcases [4], while sipping on local cocktails. The Tantalo Kitchen restaurant and rooftop bar were both built from reclaimed wood from the Panama Canal, tying in a sense of history with their sustainable mission. Recycled newspapers and phonebooks keep the hotel nice and cool, functioning as insulation in the structural walls.

With sustainability, Tantalo also brings luxury [5], with a deep tissue massage included with each of the 12 guest rooms! Each is hand decorated by a local Panama artist, making the Tantalo a hotel-meets-art gallery. Graffiti [6]and wall pieces continue throughout the hotel, creating a relationship between art, tourism and sustainability.

The beautiful wooden rooftop bar [7] offers sweeping views of the ultra modern Panama City, while offering artisan local cocktails and a chance to dance the night away.
