Chairs are meant for sitting, not munching on -- unless you're resting on one of Enoc Armengol's Panpaati chairs. The Spanish industrial designer has created a set of two chairs and a side table made entirely out of bread!
Armengol’s breadstick tables and chairs may not be durable, but they speak to our obsession with cheap, compostable furniture that is light on the earth. Armengol explains that his creations are representative of “the short-time life of the current, almost ephemeral furniture. Nevertheless, these pieces can also be eaten, becoming part of the living process.”
The designer hasn’t revealed how his furniture was built, but it looks tasty enough that it probably wouldn’t last in most kitchens for long.
