Pantene to Roll Out First Sugarcane-Based Packaging This Month

Pantene is a popular hair care staple for many women and men alike, so we were pleased to catch wind that the company will be shipping its first plant-based plastic containers to stores in Western Europe this month. Formed primarily from sugarcane, according to Len Sauers, the company’s vice president of sustainability, the new packaging is expected to cut P&G’s fossil-fuel consumption by 70 percent and reduce their greenhouse-gas emissions by 170 percent.
