The future of supercars looks greener than ever before, as Peugeot has just released the first teaser photos of its Onyx hybrid sports car concept that will debut later this month at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The two-tone Onyx sports car features a sexy aggressive exterior that is unlike anything Peugeot currently offers – and it will be propelled by a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain.
The Onyx hybrid concept gets a two-tone exterior with flat-black and copper paint. Peugeot hasn’t unveiled all the details about the exterior, but it’s expected that its body is made of lightweight carbon fiber to keep the functional concept’s weight down.
The Onyx is powered by a hybrid powertrain that features a 3.7-liter V8 diesel engine that is mounted behind the driver and an electric motor that is located over the concept’s front axle. The hybrid system puts out a over 600 horsepower, which is sent to all four wheels.
The interior of the Onyx concept features a futuristic, yet minimalist design. Peugeot hasn’t announced any production plans for the Onyx concept, but its technology could eventually show up in future Peugeot models.
