Copenhagen Design Week is in full effect and we recently stopped off at CODE11, an exclusive trade fair showing off works from Scandinavian companies and fresh designers focusing on high quality, cutting edge design. Located at the Bella Center -- also famous for hosting the COP 15 United Nations Climate Change Conference back in 2009 -- this trade fair was highlighted by a bounty of exciting and new eco-designs. Click through our exclusive photographs to discover some Nordic wonders - including this hand-knit recycled cotton chair designed by Ortwed!
The ‘Coral’ pendant is a flat-pack, DIY lamp designed by David Trubridge and sold by Danish Roomstore. It is made from bamboo plywood and nylon clips, and it comes completed with instructions for quick and easy assembling.
Recently featured here on Inhabitat, the Alvi Silk Chair by Copenhagen Design School’s graduate Asa Karner is an FSC oak framed seat with a sculptural array of blue silk strings inspired by Scandinavian boats.
Made to last, sleek and flexible, this E-Book reader and laptop stand was designed by About:Blank and built using Finnish molded plywood with birch veneer and renewable cork.
Carlo Garn is a wine rack designer who ventured into furniture design by making this fantastic ergonomic chair out of recycled scrap wood from wine barrels.
Re-cycle is a stool by Johan Lowegren made entirely out of different bicycle parts including bouncy inner tubes to create a textile and bike frames as a supporting structure.
Stay tuned for more exciting and quirky eco-design products fresh from Copenhagen Design Week 2011!
