Last week Inhabitat was proud to release Pickathon Music Festival’s 2016 lineup. This week we’re excited to announce that the lineup has expanded to include both the celebrated Kevin Morby and Montreal’s Wolf Parade for their first US festival in five years. Fans of indie and folk rock now have two more reasons to check out America’s favorite eco-conscious music festival located at Pendarvis Farm, just outside of Portland, Oregon on the weekend of August 5-7. And if you’re not much of an indie rock person, fear not, the lineup includes a diverse array of talent including the French-Cuban downtempo soul duo Ibeyi, Toronto based improv group BadBadNotGood, and the country-soul group The Deslondres, hailing from New Orleans. To give you a taste of the kinds of musical treats that are in store, we’ve included an exclusive video from last year’s Mountain Stage. Check it out after the jump.
Liz Vice’s debut album There’s a Light reached number 6 on the Top Gospel Albums chart for Billboard magazine charts in 2015. In summer that same year she also drew crowds from across the country to Pickathon. With a voice like hers, we can’t say we’re surprised.
