Last week we had the opportunity to attend the Wanderlust Festival in Stratton -- a 4-day yoga, hiking and music eco-festival located high up in the mountains of Vermont. We had a blast not only stretching our computer-hunched backs and blogger fingertips in a downward dog, but enjoying all the yummy food, nature walks and workshops this festival had to offer in the heart of nature. Now in its fourth year, Wanderlust has created an inimitable experience that brings together world's leading yogis, musicians, speakers, top chefs, winemakers and more - for thousands of visitors to enjoy! But best of all? This festival sets a goal of carbon neutrality, boasts on-site recycling, composting, and carefully chooses sustainable products and vendors that make a concerted effort to be green. Jump ahead to see all of our highlights from this awesome festival!
Wanderlust welcomed thousands of visitors over its four-day run. A beautiful setting and causal atmosphere made this festival feel like a paradise in the mountains.
Being the archi-nerds we are, we were giddy to see a Bucky-dome on site. Here, visitors were offered yoga classes, talks and a simple space for meditation and respite.
Yoga was the order of the day and “celebrity yogis ” were teaching their famed classes and techniques to students who came from across the globe.
Nature hikes were plentiful at Wanderlust – from barefoot hiking to sensory hikes that explored connections between nature, yoga and music.
Lots of recycling and composting went down at Wanderlust. Visitors were encouraged to bring reusable water bottles to the festival, but plastic bottles that made their way up the mountain were collected and saved for eventual rebirth as a pair of Timberlands’ Earthkeepers kicks .
After a long day of yoga and hiking we were more than happy to sit down for the special farm-to-table dinner located in the beautiful Timber Hall at Stratton Mountain Club . The delicious dinner featured delectable, locally grown foods from Vermont’s farms.
No festival would be complete without live musical acts! On the last night we were treated to an exclusive concert featuring Ziggy Marley . Other performers at the festival included Ani Difranco, Beats Antique, and more.
If you’re interested in learning more, or checking out Wanderlust yourself, the festival is currently “touring” the country. They’ve just kicked off their latest run in Copper, Colorado , and they will be stopping next in Squaw Valley, California , with a final appearance in Whistler, BC, Canada .
Huge thanks to our friends at Timberland for the invitation — we hope to attend again next year!
