The FIA Alternative Energies Cup made just one stop in Canada this year for the 2011 Rallye International Vert de Montreal, and the new plug-in Prius was crowned the most efficient vehicle out of 21 entrants. The cars in the alternative energy rally were put through a variety of tests over 600 kilometers to see which came out on top in fuel efficiency. But unlike solar car competitions, which also rank winners by range, the Rallye International Vert de Montreal ranks on both speed and fuel efficiency - the title goes to the car that can maintain an average speed of 50 kilometers per hour while also making the most of its alternative fuel source.
