Vehicles line Montreal's streets for the Rallye International Vert de Montreal portion of the alternative energy cup.

Fifty kilometers per hour isn’t much–just 31 miles per hour–but that’s still a reasonable driving speed for alternative energy cars built for city driving. Toyota Canada engineer Vinh Pham drove the winning Prius with his navigator Peter Nytko. Their plug-in Prius averaged 76 miles per gallon over the course of the rally. The winning car now has the privilege of competing in the March 2012 Rallye Monte-Carlo des vehicules a energie alternative.
