The Portabee is a portable, robust, affordable 3D printer that is targeting a game-changing price point under $500. The team has drawn upon their vast wealth of reprap heritage to create a simple, minimalist 3D printer – and they’re seeking to break into the market with some neat engineering and an attractive price point. The Portabee addresses key aspects such as machine balance and axis stability to give it an edge over existing kits. The team’s goal is to distribute a 3D printer capable of performing at the level of the industry standard for fused depositation (on par with ultimaker.com ) for under 500 bucks.
