Prefab M-velope Retreats Shift and Slide into a Bevy of Fun Shapes

by , 08/16/12

Michael Jantzen, M-Velope, Prefabricated design, green design, sustainable design, eco-design, shape-shifting, building regulations, wendy house

Comprised of several different pre-fabricated sections, M-velopes are prefabricated and shipped just about anywhere in the world and bolted on-site. The complexity of the structure varies according to each buyer’s taste and a lot of attention has gone into ensuring that they have a relatively benign ecological footprint.

Depending on where it will be placed and for what function (indoor play or work space or outdoor wendy house), M-velopes usually require neither a foundation nor a building permit. But that really depends on the local building regulations so we recommend you check that out before having one of these shipped to your front door. And if you are interested to see more of Jantzen’s experimental design, and there’s quite a bit, stop buy his website for a peak.
