Odooproject Prefab by Solar Decathlon Team Hungary Boasts a Ceiling-Integrated Water Cooling System

Photovoltaic panels [1] are integrated into the building’s facade and rooftop and passive design was executed so well that during the winter, it will be unnecessary to use the air-to-water heat pump that provides the home’s heating. In summer, the family will congregate in a separate northern section of the house that has a double facade, while spring and autumn are best spent in an airy central courtyard.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this forward-thinking design is the water cooling system, wherein water circulates through ceiling-integrated pipes and then sprinkles over the rooftop solar panels at night in order to cool off! The dark functional facade conceals a light and breezy interior that will ensures maximum comfort – no matter the season! Give it up for Team Hungary from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics [2] (BME)!
