Prefab Week'nder House in Wisconsin Can Survive 160 MPH Winds

by , 01/19/12

FlatPak Studio offers a unique prefabricated system that basically allows you – the home owner – to design your home however you like. You choose the exterior, you decide how many bathrooms you want and where the glass should go and what kind to use (based on your home’s particular site), and you can even dictate where the deck should be placed. FlatPak homes can be as long or as wide as the consumer prefers and up to four storeys tall.

The Week’nder boasts termite resistant cladding, a snow load engineered roof, natural ventilation and in-floor heating, and plenty of natural light to boot. Amazingly, this little home made in Wisconsin was shipped to the owner via ferry across Lake Superior and now sits gently upon Madeline Island.
