1928 Kitchen with Hideous 1960s Update! by Kim Tocco

Fake wood cabinets, orange countertops, 60s-mod carpet, old appliances, thin outdated paneling, and dim lighting...what's not to love? This charming home, built in 1928  had been lovingly cared for by the previous owners. It was solidly built, well-maintained and clean as a whistle when Kim purchased it this year. When she first saw the kitchen she suspected that it had not been updated since the 1960's. The colorful, patterned carpet evokes a feeling of the mod 60's era and was likely quite trendy in its time. The bright orange countertops are certainly cheery, but begged to be updated. The fake wood cabinets, brown paneling, old sink, ancient appliances, and dark and dreary interior are just waiting to be transformed. Kim knows that it will be a beautiful,  functional, warm and inviting space for a new generation of family members. Help her get the kitchen upgrade she needs by voting!

Contest over. There is no justice in the world if this does not win by a landslide.

I think this is the same Nilea Parvin that gives fine art lectures and workshops. Her “Grandma’s Kitchen” embodies her artistic sensibilities. She has built a winner with class and elan.
