This month the Pepsi Refresh Project is giving away $1.3 million in grants to worthy humanitarian and environmental efforts across the country. A lot of these initiatives are focused on raising healthy kids, and this month we’d like to urge you to vote for the dStory project. It’s a plan put together by the Diabetes Education and Camping Association that will help to raise awareness about type 1 diabetes (the insulin dependent kind) and empower children living with the disease. Rates of diabetes are on the rise around the world — some researchers are linking this to environmental toxins — but the realities of the disease aren’t widely known. By casting your vote you’ll be helping kids live long and healthy lives by sending them to diabetes camp, and giving them the chance to tell the world what it’s like to be a kid with diabetes. You can vote once a day, every day this December!
