With the loss of parking, that would mean a loss of meter and parking tickets proceeds. With the removed parking, would this also not mean the need for more parking garages? Unfortunately I believe that we need to have safety from cyclists first. If the city is willing to require that cyclists need to be licensed, pay registration fees, obey the traffic laws, and require the police to enforce traffic laws for cyclists the I'll support this. Otherwise I'd rather have cyclists banned from the streets totally. Seems pretty simple. Let's have an egalitarian society and respect each other's rights and safety.
