Ralph Lauren's US Olympic Uniforms Are Made in China, Draw Outrage from Congress

Fashion designer Ralph Lauren was at the center of a massive controversy when it was revealed that Team USA’s Olympic uniforms were made in China this week. “I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again,” Senator Harry Reid (D-Nev.) famously said. Meanwhile, others have derided the opening ceremonies outfits for their over-the-top Hamptons yacht party aesthetic, not to mention those “too French” berets and the oversized logos on the breast. In response to the criticism, Ralph Lauren says the tags on the 2014 Winter Olympics uniforms will read “Made in USA.”
