Gallery: Reclaimed Wood Sculpture by Haberdasherylondon

 

Last month, London’s Selfridges department store devoted the busiest street corner in Europe to an installation by art and design company Haberdasherylondon. On display on the corner of London’s Oxford Street and Orchard Street was ‘Untitled 13′ – a huge contemporary sculpture made up of 653 pieces of reclaimed Victorian wood, perspex and steel.

    a close friend of mine (t.v.) produced a very similar installation in lubbock, texas in 2002. he and his collaborator did an outstanding piece that has been copied here and by maya lin.

    WOW!.. What a waste of old growth pine….

    I feel that would could have gone to a better use in some handcrafted furniture.

    Considering that they painted the sticks… they could have been made out of recycled plastics…

    Just my thought on it…
